How to make Lebanese Fattoush Salad
Fattoush is a typical salad of Syrian and Lebanese cuisine. It is made with cucumber, tomato, parsley, and fresh mint. The characteristic ingredients of this salad are sumac, and pita bread cut into strips or cubes, fried or toasted. Ingredients
- Three large salad tomatoes
- One long cucumber
- One spring onion
- Half red bell pepper
- One Pita Bread
- Five radishes
- Two tablespoons of parsley leaves
- Two tablespoons of mint leaves
- Two tablespoons of coriander leaves
- One lemon
- Two tablespoons of sumac
Instructions
- Wash the vegetables well and dry them with a cloth
- Cut the tomatoes into 2-3 cm pieces
- Cut the cucumber, the radishes, and the red pepper into 2cm long pieces
- Cut the onion into strips
- Cut the lettuce into not very thin strips
- Cut the mint leaves, parsley, and cilantro into 3-4 pieces
- Cut the pita bread into cubes
- Toast them in the oven or under the grill
- Make sure they are very crispy
- Put one tablespoon of sumac
- Add 5-6 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
- Now add 3-4 tablespoons of lemon juice to a bowl
- Beat vigorously with a whisk to emulsify the mixture
- Put the vegetables in a salad bowl
- Add the lemon dressing and stir with a spoon to distribute it evenly.
