Ingredients
- One whole chicken
- 1-2 cups of Freekeh
- Use whole grain green wheat
- Two onions
- One teaspoon of seven spices
- Half teaspoon of white pepper
- Three tablespoons of olive oil
- You need the following ingredients for boiling chicken
- Ten cups of water
- Half onion
- Cloves
- Bay leaves
- Two teaspoons of salt
- One teaspoon of black pepper
Instructions
- Add the whole chicken and spices to a large pot
- Add a half onion and bay leaves, cinnamon sticks, and cloves
- Season the chicken with salt and black pepper
- Now add ten cups of water
- Cook the chicken over light-medium heat until boiling
- Lower the temperature and cook for 60 minutes
- Remove the chicken from the heat and set aside
- Place 1-2 cups of Freekeh in a medium bowl
- Remove debris from the freekeh using your hands
- Use water to wash the freekeh
- Dice the onions and cook them until softened
- Add the freekeh and season the dish with seven spices
- Once boiled, lower the heat to a medium
