How to make Lebanese Okra Stew

Ingredients
- Preparing the stew requires the following ingredients
- Two 14 ounces of okra frozen bags
- One pound of beef stew cubes
- One bunch of chopped cilantro
- Twelve garlic cloves
- One or two cups of crushed tomatoes
- Two tablespoons of vegetable oil
- One teaspoon of dried coriander
- One teaspoon of black pepper
- Four teaspoons of salt
- Half onion
- One bay leaf
- One cinnamon stick
- Preparing the rice requires the following ingredients
- One or two cups of long grain white rice
- 1/3 cup of vermicelli noodles
- Two or three cups of water
- Two tablespoons of vegetable oil
- One teaspoon of salt
Instructions
- Add beef to the pressure cooker
- Add enough water to cover the meat
- Boil the beef for 10-15 minutes on high heat
- Remove the water and add fresh water to the beef
- Now add a half onion and one large bay leaf
- Add one cinnamon stick, two teaspoons of salt, and a few cloves
- Add half a teaspoon of black pepper
- Now with lid and set the temperature to medium-high heat
- Lower the heat to medium after the cooker whistles for ten minutes
- Set the pressure cooker’s timer for twenty minutes
- Turn off the heat after twenty minutes
- Make sure the pressure cooker releases the steam
- Set aside the cooked okra stew with the fresh broth
- Thaw the okra for about 10-15 minutes
- Heat the vegetable oil and deep fry okra for ten minutes on medium heat
- Continue heating the okras until they become light golden-brown
- Wash the cilantro and cut off its stems to streamline the chopping
- Use a wooden mortar and pestle to crush the garlic
- Add one teaspoon of salt and the chopped cilantro/garlic to the pot
- Now add two teaspoons of veggie oil and cook for five minutes
- Add the fried okra to the garlic or cilantro mixture
- Add beef broth, about eight cups, to cover all ingredients
- Put in some crushed tomato, one teaspoon of salt, and half a teaspoon of black pepper
- Add one teaspoon of dried coriander and simmer on low-medium heat for 15-20 minutes
- Start making the rice by washing it three times in a mixing bowl
- Heat the vegetable oil for 60 seconds on medium-high heat
- Now add the vermicelli noodles and cook for about 4-5 minutes
- Add the washed rice, salt, and water and lower the heat to medium-low
- Cover and cook for 15-20 minutes
- Serve the Lebanese okra stew with rice to your family and friends
